Garima Jain  made a questionnaire survey was conducted among professionals and technicians who frequently use microscopes in pathology, microbiology, hematology and cytology laboratories. The survey revealed the most prevalent occupational issues for microscope users: musculoskeletal disorders in the neck and back, eye strain and aggravated refractive errors, as well as stress and anxiety caused by prolonged working hours.

Developed by FreshAir in 2021, the Renlan Pathology Diagnostic Bench tackles three major problems including muscle strain, visual fatigue and inhalation of fumes from slide mounting, fully safeguarding the health of microscope operators.

The Renlan unit is also fitted with an ergonomic chair. It keeps the upper and lower arms at a right angle while forearms stay level with the work surface for an optimal seating height. Meanwhile, the angle between thighs and calves is maintained at no less than 90 degrees, enabling users to work with microscopes for long hours without fatigue.
